Is mentorship Overrated?

Mentorship can simply be defined as a relationship whereby a less experienced person goes to seek knowledge from an accomplished person in a particular field.

Most of the time we are been told to get a particular mentor or someone we are accountable to, one way or another which is a very good initiative but I do not consider it to be necessary.

There are people who have thrived and learned through their environment, The environment became their mentor when they had nobody to turn to, they were observant and sharp enough to pick the important stuff from different sources for inspiration for their various journeys.

Curtis Jackson also known as Fifty cent was a kid on the streets who had no particular figure to turn to, he learnt about business through what he observed around him, he studied his environment and understood how the human mind works and today he is one of the biggest black business rappers in the game.

If you’re out there and you feel like you have nobody to turn to and you feel helpless, my advice to you is this, stay sharp and soak in every bit of information you come by in whatever field you find yourself, don’t lose guard because information is power and most importantly take ACTION!
